Give to the Washington Festival Fund
DCBU is actively seeking corporate sponsors and private donations to help us produce the Washington Bluegrass Festival. We currently have $5,000 in gifts, but will need about $40,000 to launch the event. The sooner you can make your tax-deductible contribution, the sooner you'll be sitting in your lawn chair enjoying great music at a premier festival right here in Washington.
All gifts are being set aside specifically for the festival fund!

Jon Glik: Miracle After Miracle (by Randy Barrett)
(third in a series profiling world-class bluegrass musicians in the Washington, DC area - Randy Barrett).
Baltimore fiddler Jon Glik is playing once again. Last November, he lay near death in the hospital awaiting a liver transplant. A musical coincidence helped save his life.

Jon is a fiddling legend, both locally and nationally. Over the past 30 years, he's performed and recorded with such luminaries as Del McCoury, David Grisman, Jerry Garcia, Peter Rowan and Frank Wakefield. He's also worked with Bob Paisley and the Southern Grass and the Footworks dance ensemble. The quite, self-effacing musician is know best for his fierce, bluesy fiddle style, reminiscent of the first-generation bluegrass masters of the instrument.
